Replying to:Passing of Jack (John) Coomer
Jack (John) Coomer (ex Squadron Ldr RAAF) passed away 17th March 2009. Jack was involved in the design of the 125 dinghy with Blockey the Boat Builder (see "information on 125s). He introduced the class into Queensland circa 1974. He owned No's 1, 6 and 125. Lived at Victoria Point for some 35 years, and was member of Cleveland Yacht Club, with surviving family, wife Doreen and daughters Cheri and Tracy, who also raced at CYC. He did not want a funeral service, but his ashes were scattered in local waters on 16th May 2009. We thank Jack for his contribution to the class, may he rest in peace. PS I have attached some correspondence and photos from Jack.
