New to 125s
Hi everyone,

I've recently bought a 125 and would love some advice on a few things.

The guy I bought the boat from built it himself, but, considering he'd be storing it under the house most of the time, has painted the whole thing with house paint! The colour scheme is fairly terrible so I'd like to give it a repaint but not sure what the best way to go about it would be. The paint is in good condition but she already seem heavier than her varnished counter-parts. Would I be best to paint over it, sand it all back and repaint or even varnish it? I'm unlikely, at this stage, to be racing her but would like to have the option to in the future.

Also, she hasn't got a spinnaker or trapeze and I was wondering how, where, and for how much I might go about acquiring these.

Thanks!

Careful application with a heat gun and scraper would most likely be the best way to remove house paint. It would also help to dry a timber boat before sanding for new paint and of course might save you some weight.

Good luck
