I am about to move to Qld and thinking of getting a 125 to sail up there. The problem is i am 85kgs. Is this to heavy to be around the mark ?? i dont have a crew yet!! or even a boat but just looking into it
Also where are they sailed in Qld??
Thanks
Ronny!

I weigh similar and sail with my son. You might be better off as crew where the weight can be a real asset and you won't even need a trapeze except in strong wind.
Click here for a list of Queensland clubs that sail 125s. Brisbane Sailing Squadron has the biggest Brisbane fleet if that is where you are heading.

No I dont think that you are too heavy. I too weigh aroung 85kg's and quite comfortably sail a 125. I am the forward hand, so the weight (and height, all 183cm of it!) comes in handy. all you need is a light skipper (in my case my girl friend)

the BSS season kicks off on the 9th of september

Good luck with that!
at the moment I dont think that there are any 125's at southport, but it will be great to get a fleet going down there!

Re: Am i 2 Heavy
Hi,
I haven't sailed for 15years and looking to get back into a boat. Used to have a Laser when I was 18yrs and loved it. Is a 125 a good beginners boat for me and can I sail it solo or is it better as a two person? I weigh 72kgs.
Speak soon.
Paul
