NOTICE OF RACE
Bias Boating Warehouse
HumpyBash2009
Saturday 19th Sunday 20th September 2009
The regatta is open to all classes of Off-the-Beach
Catamarans and Dinghies and any level of sailing
Rules: The regatta will be governed by the 2009/2012 International Sailing Federation Racing Rules of sailing (RRS), the Prescriptions and safety Regulations of Yachting Australia and the rules of the respective class associations and any of these that are altered by the sailing instructions.
Eligibility: The regatta is open to boats that meet the definition of Off-the-Beach Catamarans or Dinghies. Racing shall be conducted in Divisions based on VYC Yardstick Ratings. For any boat that does not have a current VYC rating the committee may determine a rating to be applied for this regatta only. Such determination shall be at the sole discretion of the Race Committee and shall not be grounds for redress.
Entry: All entries shall be available on the day at the race registration desk located upstairs at HYC.
Attention is drawn to Rule 46 of the current RRS: All members of the crew must be a financial member of a yacht club affiliated with YQ/YA & hold a Yachting Australia silver card or evidence from their National Body.
New Humpybong Yacht Club membership is available on the day: - Junior $100 - Senior $200 Family $250
Arrows and Arafura Cadets wishing to compete in their state titles shall be a member of their class association before they can compete.
Divisions:
Entries will be classed by VYC Yardstick.
Division cut off will be.
Div 1: 76 and under
Div 2: 76.5 to 100
Div 3: 100.5 to 123
Div 4: 123.5 and above
Div 5: Juniors sailing optimists, sabots, mirrors, minnows
(Course will be set if needed close to shore for junior competitors)
Arrow Catamarans will race in Div 2
Arafura Cadets will race in Div 3
Regatta Entry Fees:
Adults: $40 for 2 days or $25 for 1 day
Juniors: $20 for 2 days or $15 for 1 day
Protest and Appeals: Protest shall be of a form set out in the current ISAF-Protest Form and shall be accompanied by a fee of $50 and lodged with a member of the race committee within 2 hours of the finishing time of the protesting yacht.
Disclaimer of Liability: Competitors participate in HYC events entirely at their own risk. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the event. It is recommended that each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance.

Club BBQ
BBQ starts at 6.00pm $12.00 per adult. Kids under 10 eat for free.
Sunday 20th September 2009
Briefing......................................Not before 9.00am
Race 4 Warning signal not before 10.00am
Race 5 & 6 Warning signal not before 12.30pm
Sailing Instructions: Sailing instructions will be available at Humpybong Yacht Club from 8.00am on Saturday 19th September 2009.
Scoring: One race will constitute a series
The low point scoring system shall apply with 6 races scheduled of which the best 5 races shall be counted. If 5 or less races are completed then all races completed shall be counted.
Scoring shall be based on VYC rating.
Arrows and Arafura Cadets scores will be drawn out of the overall HumpyBash results to determine the overall winners
Measurement: All boats shall comply with class requirements where applicable.
Regatta Site: The Regatta site will be the Humpybong Yacht Club, situated at the Cnr Hornibrook Esp. & Oxley Ave, Woody Point, Qld 4019, and conducted on the waters of Bramble Bay.
Courses: The course shall be described in the Sailing Instructions or at the Briefing.
Prizes: Prize giving ASAP after final race. In Club room
