Replacement sheets
I've just bought a fairly old (20+ yrs) 125 and want to replace the sheets (jib and main) before taking her out for a sail. Can anyone tell what what diameter/type of rope I should be getting? The boat will mainly be used for recreational purposes. It has no spinnaker fittings.

Thanks
Andrew

Re: Replacement sheets
Hi Andrew
Diameter of sheets will depend on your desire comfort level and blocks/fittings it needs to pass through.
For pottering about 8mm would be nice and comfy.
If you want less friction and less water retention try 6mm. If your masocistic go for 4mm....
Use a nice 8 plaid such a marlow as its nice and cost effective.
Do not use the stuff they sell at Bunnings...its basically recyled rope & cloth and has dubious stretch qualities.
Best to drop into your local boat chandler and tell him exactly what you have asked here....
Cheers
