Return to the Forum List New to the 125 and sailing in general (Canberra) | I've just been given a 125 class by my uncle who purchased it for the trailer. I have commandeered my mate's tinnie trailer and now have a sweet little sailer sitting in my driveway. I have sailed a little on the lake in other boats and took the yacht club's sailing course a while back.
The boat is in really rather good condition, has all her sails and rigging and really only needs a good rub down and proper paint schedule applied (Currently has what I can only guess is house paint on her)
I aim to use her mainly as a little cruiser and as such am contemplating re-enforcing the ply hull with fibreglass and applying a polyurethane paint.
Some of the tackle is a bit worse for wear and will need replacement and I think I've somehow managed to end up with someone else's rudder as the pin alignment is all wrong. All said though, she cost me nothing and I'm really quite chuffed.

| Re: New to the 125 and sailing in general (Canberra) | Hi Mick
I've just posted my 125 for sale. I'm in Canberra and haven't been able to find a like-minded person to sale with me. If yur looking for crew for your little boat, or would like to go out in mine (before it's sold), let me know. Cheers, Jane

| Re: New to the 125 and sailing in general (Canberra) | Hello Mick and Jane - I'm based in Canberra too and have a 125. Mick - I am currently refurbishing my wooden 125 and have learnt a lot and I am happy to share with you my learnings! Jane - have you managed to sell your 125, or are you going to give it another go later this year? The YMCA sailing club is looking for other 125s to put a local competition together and I am sure you could find some keen partners that way.
