Side Tanks
Hi folks,
I have been checking out second hand 125's, and most seem to have very flexible tops on the side tanks. So, is this a problem? Do they split? Do you tend to spend much time sitting on them in light winds?
Also, where can one buy a launcher to retro fit?
Thanks.

Re: Side Tanks
The Timberones do flex a bit, if they do split its usually around fittings or the start of the glassed joins. Check for previous repairs before buying.

You will spend a lot of time sitting on the tanks.

I believe that Don Barnett at Adelaide makes pole launchers. Any boat shop that specialises in sailing should be able to supply the parts for a system, plenty of classes use them.

Re: Side Tanks
I have a timber 125 and haven't struck splitting problems. It might depend on what timber was used. The only problem I have had was that the glass seam on the inside edge split in a couple of places but I just reglassed the seam and had no further problem.

Re: Side Tanks
Avoided the issue & have bought a glass boat. So, look out for the dadda & his flock at Mordy SC.
